Arthur V. Shaheen, Esq. - Senior Attorney
Arthur V. Shaheen, a resident of Blacksburg, has more than thirty-one years of experience in litigation, real estate transaction work, and associated civil law. A former U.S. Marine, Arthur graduated from the College of William and Mary (B.A. Philosophy 1985) and the University of Richmond’s Law School (J.D. 1988). He is certified under CRESPA and is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers’ Association (VTLA), the Virginia Land Title Association (VLTA), the Virginia State Bar Real Property Section, the Montgomery County Bar Association, the President-Elect of Blacksburg Rotary, and is an affiliate member of the New River Valley Association of Realtors.
He has served as a member of the Council, Virginia State Bar (1998-2003), and as a member of its Client Protection Fund Board. He is admitted to practice before all Virginia based state and federal courts, including the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

B. Philip Shaheen- Closing Officer
Philip grew up in the State of Maine. He received a four-year Presidential Scholarship from the University of Maine in Orono, was in inducted in Omicron Delta Epsilon International Economics Honor Society, and graduated Cum Laude in May 2018. He enjoys spending his free time reading, playing pickup basketball, and watching international soccer matches. Phil is one of the primary closing officers and plans on going to law school in the future.

Hannah Samsel - ParalegalHannah Samsel serves on The Shaheen Firm’s Staff as a Paralegal with an emphasis on prelims, marketing, and commercial transactions. She enjoys making new clients feel welcomed and informed about the exciting process of purchasing and selling property. Hannah grew up in West Monroe, Louisiana, and attended Ouachita Baptist University where she graduated with a B.A. double major in History and Christian Studies, summa cum laude. She then attended East Tennessee State University where she earned her M.A. in History. Naturally, she finds the local history embedded in title work fascinating. Hannah’s previous experience includes several years of managing transactions for realtors as well as closing transactions for a settlement agency. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors when camping and hiking with her husband, daughter and 3-pound dog.

Lori Nolen- Intake/Closing OfficerLori Nolen has resided in Montgomery County her entire life. She graduated from Radford University with a degree in Accounting. Most recently, Lori worked on the property management side of real estate with leasing and homeowners association management. She has also completed her Real Estate Salespersons License. After working in the banking industry for several years, her focus moved to raising her daughters full-time before she came to work with The Shaheen Firm. Aside from spending time with her family, Lori is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching a wide variety of both college and professional sports.
